Update: Sport Yukon to Host “Kinda” Klondike Road Relay

June 22, 2021 (Whitehorse, YT) – Sport Yukon is excited that local runners will be returning to the South Klondike Highway this fall, as the “Kinda” Klondike Road Relay (K-KRR) kicks off September 11th.

In light of the current Covid-19 situation in Yukon we are delaying registration until end of July.  At that point, we will be better able to give you current information about how the race can safely be held and the number of participants who will be able to safely participate in this annual fall event.  The “Kinda” will be an in-person event for Yukoners and we will be offering a virtual event for out of territory runners.  We are excited to be talking with our Alaskan friends who will be announcing an event they are holding in Skagway the same weekend!

The “Kinda” will be a one-day event open to Yukon 5-person running teams who will be pounding the pavement on the traditional KRR legs 6-10. Our walking and youth teams will be completing legs 7-10 as they historically have done.

We encourage you to start gathering your team members, lace up those running shoes, and hit the trails so you are ready to take part in this celebration of community and physical activity.

Our end of July registration will be capped based on recommendations from the Chief Medical Officer of Health’s office.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back when we return to the original KRR format in 2022.
